About Lomilomi

Lomilomi is the hula of massage, where the therapist uses his forearms and hands for broad, sometimes deep strokes, releaving tension and leading to deep relaxation. This is Doug's most highly requested massage. His teachers in Hawaii are well known in their field and follow a long standing tradition of healing work within their communities.

About Thai Yoga

Thai yoga is given fully clothed, using compressions and stretching of the client's body by the therapist's hands and feet. Clients usually wear yoga attire or sweat pants and receive a deeply relaxing session on a floor futon.

About Deep Tissue

Doug's deep tissue is a combination of lomilomi, Thai yoga, Swedish, and myofascial release techniques.

About Swedish

Swedish is the classic form of massage we all think of when we imagine massage therapy. It includes effleurage, petrissage, and sometimes tapotement. The session is done with oil or lotion and its intention is deep relaxation.

About Pre-Natal

Pre-natal massage is provided to women in their pregnancy who are at least 14 weeks gestation. Clients are lying on their side, snuggling a body pillow on the table to ensure a safe and relaxing massage.

About Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a form of Japanese acupressure where specific pressure points on the client are touched using the therapist's thumbs and palms. Meridians are followed up and down the client's legs and arms to stimulate various energy centers throughout the body. The client can be dressed or if not, then drapped under a sheet on the table.

About Hot Stones

Hot stone hydrotherapy is deeply relaxing bodywork where smooth basalt stones and oil are used to warm up the muscle tissue simultaneously as the massage is given.

About Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the complimentary use of essential oils during the massage, all of which are plant-based and very aromatic. Clients choose one essential oil from a large collection; examples include lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint, geranium, etc.
